Experience | Empathy | Excellence

I founded Livvy’s Learners to give children and families thoughtful, tailored educational support that goes further than the classroom.

As a qualified teacher with years of experience in both independent and state schools, I’ve supported pupils of all abilities, from those taking their first steps with reading to those preparing for entrance exams to top independent schools. I have tutored children from ages 3-11 in person and online. I have the necessary skill set to cater for different needs and to ensure progression. My teaching style is calm, structured and fun, focusing on building confidence first so that academic progress naturally follows. Parents describe my sessions as warm, inspiring, and transformative and fun, a space where children rediscover the joy of learning.

I am a positive, active and energetic person who loves a wide range of sports, including netball, skiing and horse riding. I enjoy cooking and getting creative. I hold a full DBS and have a clean UK driving license.

Success Stories

Nurturing Confidence, Building Achievement

Every child we work with receives a personalised approach, where they are clearly encouraged, allowing the sessions to follow a clear structure with creative teaching.

Discovering A Love For Reading

Reception to Year 1

When H began sessions at the start of Reception, he struggled to recognise letters and found early writing frustrating. Through weekly 1:1 sessions focused on phonics, storytelling, and confidence-building, he quickly began to connect sounds with meaning, and most importantly, to enjoy reading.

Now in Year 1, H is reading fluently, writing full sentences independently, and is already pushing into the top reading group in his class. His parents have said, “He picks up a book every morning before school, something we never imagined a year ago.”

Support Sessions To Success

Year 1 to Year 3

When E first joined Livvy’s Learners in Year 1, he lacked confidence in reading and spelling and received extra support at school. Together, we built strong phonics foundations, introduced engaging comprehension activities, and worked consistently on spelling patterns through fun, practical tasks.

By Year 3, E no longer required additional reading sessions at school. He’s now achieving above average in reading for his age and writes with a new sense of independence and pride. His teachers have commented on his “huge leap in confidence and progress.”

Confidence And Transformation

Year 1 to Year 4

I began tutoring S in Year 1. At the time, she was struggling across all subjects, found it hard to concentrate, and often displayed frustration in lessons. Together, we created a calm, consistent routine that combined emotional support with clear academic structure, small achievable steps, regular praise, and interactive learning.

Now in Year 4, she is reading chapter books independently, writing for above her age level, and has successfully gained entry into a top independent school. Most importantly, she is emotionally secure, motivated, and proud of her achievements.

  • “Our daughter’s confidence has soared since working with Liv. She explains things so clearly and celebrates every small success. We’ve seen huge progress in writing, spelling, and overall happiness at school.”

  • “Liv has completely transformed our son’s relationship with learning. He used to dread reading, now he brings books to us to read together! She’s calm, warm, and completely understands how to motivate children in a gentle, effective way.”

    Parent of Year 2 Student

  • “Livvy has an incredible way of connecting with children. She helped our son prepare for prep school entrance with patience, encouragement, and structure, he not only got in but actually looks forward to learning now.”
